GEORGE TOWN: Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahya is mulling legal action against journalists and media companies whom he claims misreported his statement on "marriage after rape" during a parliamentary debate this week.
Shabudin said he will look into the possibility of suing if there is a need for him to do that.
"This issue has been spinned and it has created a terrible polemic towards me.
"It gives the public an unhealthy perception of what I said during the debate," he said during the Programme Mesra Rakyat TNB at Pokok Machang earlier today.
On Tuesday, Shabudin a former Syariah Court judge created a public uproar when he said there was nothing wrong in a rape victim marrying her rapist.
He later said his remarks made during a debate in the Dewan Rakyat was incorrectly reported by the media.
